The Jessica Martel Memorial Foundation (JMMF) was established on January 15, 2012, in response to the tragic death of Jessica Martel, a 26 year old mother of 3 who was savagely beaten and strangled to death by her husband in Morinville, Alberta.
For ten years, Jessica endured abuse, but had nowhere safe to go. In September 2018, the foundation officially broke ground on Jessie’s House - a shelter to house victims of abuse. At this time, they have raised enough 60% of the funds to complete the build and sustain one year of operations.
